Serene Sng’s Watermelons is a vibrant still life that celebrates the refreshing, juicy quality of this summertime fruit. With a keen eye for colour and composition, Sng uses a dry brush technique to create the illusion of texture on the fruit’s surface. The contrast between the green-yellowish table and the orange-coloured wall enhances the vibrancy of the sliced watermelons, making them almost tangible. This piece reflects the artist's inspiration drawn from the freshness and wholesomeness of watermelons, inviting the viewer to savour their visual appeal.

About Serene Sng

Serene Sng is a diligent young adult who has been practising acrylic painting for several years. Some of her favourite subjects include natural sceneries and still life. Serene enjoys painting because it brings her peace and tranquillity and hopes to become a skilful and successful artist who can inspire others. In 2018, Serene won first prize in the ‘Young Adult Category’ of ART:DIS’s annual art competition ‘See What I See’.
