The Circus by Floyd Thien was inspired by Edgar Degas, Marc Chagall, and the artist’s love for circus performances, the paintings showcase a giant rainbow clown, acrobats, talking animals and a lively circus tent. The humorous clown, who can uplift anyone’s mood, takes centre stage as the main character. Using a bright and cheerful colour scheme, the artist captures the excitement of the circus through its use of narrative.
