The Big Five 2 by Mitchell Soh is part of an ongoing safari series, The Big Five (Buffalo) captures the rich hues and layered textures of the African savannah. Against a sunrise sky of reds and purples, a buffalo stands in warm green grass. Using palette knife and brush, Mitchell Soh builds a landscape of memory, observation, and homage to wildlife encounters.

About Mitchell Soh

Mitchell Soh has been drawing ever since he could hold a pencil. Some of his favourite subjects to draw are characters from the Beijing Opera, the Singapore Red Lions skydiving and animals at Singapore Zoo. Mitchell’s art offers us a glimpse of the world through his eyes. Apart from drawing and painting, Mitchell is also an avid gamer and photographer. He is especially skilled at capturing wildlife on film and shares his photographs on his Instagram account @96mitchell96.
