Inspired by the mystery of North America’s deep woods, this painting imagines life within a dark forest under a purple night sky. Four owls perch on tree trunks as the central characters, their feathers carefully detailed with fine, short brushstrokes. The interplay of dark and light across the trees, together with shooting stars scattered across the sky, brings depth and atmosphere to the scene.
