Artist Profile

Eric Chua is Senior Parliamentary Secretary at the Ministry of Social and Family Development and the Ministry of Law, and Member of Parliament for Queenstown SMC. His public service is guided by a simple conviction: no one should be defined by disability, background or circumstance, and everyone deserves the chance to contribute and be recognised for what they can do.

In 2025, Eric walked alongside Allan and Johannes at The Purple Parade in support of inclusion. For this project, the three came together again, this time to paint a rabbit sculpture. From walking together to creating together, their collaboration reflects a belief Eric holds deeply: inclusion is not simply about making room for others but recognising and celebrating what each person brings.

Inspiration Behind the Design

"Hop with Heart" was created by Eric Chua, Allan, and Johannes as a celebration of inclusion, friendship, and national pride. Featuring a cheerful yellow body, vibrant red accents, a Singapore flag, and a heart motif, the design symbolises optimism, belonging, and human connection. Inspired by their shared experience at The Purple Parade, the rabbit celebrates a Singapore where everyone is valued, empowered, and given the opportunity to shine. Hop with Heart carries a simple hope: that we see the person before the label, recognise the gift in every individual, and give every talent the opportunity to shine.
