Artist Profile

Giuseppe (Joe) Spinelli is an experienced educator, designer, and fashion leader with more than three decades of contribution to design education. Recognised by the Asian Couture Federation with the Outstanding Contribution to Fashion Education Award, he has mentored numerous award-winning designers and played a significant role in shaping fashion talent across Singapore and the region.

Inspiration Behind the Design

"Daiyu" is inspired by the timeless beauty of traditional Chinese blue-and-white porcelain, particularly created during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. Rich sapphire-blue tones, delicate painted imagery, and ink-like shading create a refined visual narrative. The design celebrates craftsmanship, cultural heritage, and the enduring elegance of Chinese ceramic art through a contemporary interpretation of the Mid-Autumn rabbit.
