Made from carefully selected fabric scraps, each blanket carries traces of memory—old garments, worn textiles, and reused materials transformed into something warm and enduring.

More than a practical household craft, the making of these patchwork blankets is an act of quiet devotion. Through hours of stitching and assembly, the women express love, care, and a deep sense of responsibility for their families’ comfort. The work highlights how everyday domestic labour, often unseen and uncelebrated, becomes a powerful form of emotional expression and cultural continuity passed down through generations.

Size: 90 cm x 70 cm

Framed: No. If you would like this artwork framed, please enquire at social@artdis.org.sg

About Chang Kim Ngoh

Kim Ngoh graduated with a Diploma in Fine Art from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in 1970, specialising in watercolour painting.
